Fresh flowers for the Wild, the Thoughtful… the Native Girl
My journey into floristry didn’t start in a flower shop. It started outdoors… in wide open spaces, along bush tracks, and among the native flora of Australia that always felt more like home than any polished bouquet ever could.
Over the years, I found myself drawn not to perfect roses or peonies, but to the texture of banksias, the movement of eucalyptus, and the grounded, wild beauty of what grows naturally here. The kind of flowers that tell a story of place, season, and resilience.
The Native Girl began as a quiet rebellion against fast floristry, against imported blooms, floral foam, and waste. I wanted to do things differently. To work slowly, seasonally, and sustainably. To design with intention. And to celebrate the natural rhythm of things, not force them.
Now, I focus on creating small, thoughtful floral experiences: elopements, intimate events, dinner parties, and property florals that feel considered and connected. Every piece is designed with locally grown, seasonal flowers — many of them native — sourced directly from trusted growers and sometimes even foraged with permission.
This work is deeply personal to me. It’s creative, grounded, and full of purpose. And if you value beauty with roots, you’re in the right place.
Grounded in Sustainability
At The Native Girl, everything we do is grounded in care, for the environment, the seasons, and the communities we’re part of.
We design without floral foam, imported flowers, or harsh chemicals. Nothing is flown in or forced out of season. Instead, we work with what’s local, what’s blooming naturally, and what the land is ready to give.
Our flowers are sourced from nearby growers and, when possible, foraged thoughtfully and respectfully. We favour native and seasonal varieties, compost our green waste, and reuse or recycle materials wherever we can. Every design reflects a conscious choice to tread lightly and create beauty without harm.
For us, sustainability isn’t a trend or a box to tick. It’s the foundation of how we work, slow, seasonal, and deeply in tune with the environment.
Because meaningful floristry should honour the land it comes from.
